Inspired by the novel Mrs. Dalloway, the novel The Hours is a book that tells the story of three different women who are all somehow affected by Virginia Woolf's classic novel. The book chronicles the story pf Virginia Woolf as she begins to write the novel Mrs. Dalloway. Also the book follows Clarissa Vaughn, a woman affectionately called "Mrs. Dalloway" by her friend Richard, and Laura Brown who spends her day reading Mrs. Dalloway, and contemplating it's story.
Mrs. Dalloway is a 20th century novel that takes place in a day in the life of Virginia Dalloway, as she plans a party for the evening, and reminisces about her youth. The other main character in the novel is Septimus, a war veteran experiencing shell shock after the death of his friend. The book focuses on the regrets that both characters have for the choices they have made, and life in a post World War 1 world.
